TFG has also been collaborating with Avoided Deforestation Partners as part of an informal network of organizations, working to ensure the US Government honors it’s $1 billion in REDD+ Fast Start funding commitments. The recent “Sustainable Landscapes” report, compiled by AD Partners with contributions from TFG, urges the US to focus it’s funding on developing national programs “to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation and the conversion of other natural ecosystems, and increase land-based carbon sequestration.” The report also outlines specific measures of success, suggestions for geographic focus areas, and a proposal for three new bilateral funding mechanisms.
