Current manager of the Afi Mountain
Wildlife Sanctuary in Nigeria. The Afi Mountain Sanctuary
is a highly-threatened forest area with populations of chimpanzees,
gorillas, and drills. Sam is in charge of ranger patrols,
carries out environmental education, provides liaison between
16 communities and the Sanctuary, and advises state and local
governments on conservation policy. Prior, Mr. Ettah was
the project manager for Pandrillus, a non governmental group
that cares for 200+ highly-endangered drill monkeys and 20+
chimpanzees. Mr. Ettah has a degree in Forestry and Wildlife
Management and completed the Beahrs Environmental Leadership
Program at the University of California, Berkeley as well
as an advanced wildlife management course in the UK.
