Sam Stier

Sam Stier has 10 years of experience working on tropical forest restoration and conservation. In the Philippines, one of world’s biodiversity hotspots, Sam helped to establish a national park containing the country’s largest unprotected lowland forest, the country’s first natural history interpretive center (visited by 140,000 people annually), and one of the first forest restoration projects in the tropics designed around the specific habitat needs of threatened species. He has worked on various scientific, policy, programmatic, and community issues relating to biodiversity conservation and forest restoration as a consultant for the World Bank, U.S. Peace Corps, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Conservation International, Nature Conservancy, and World Wildlife Fund.
